Applying for Apprenticeship Incentive Grants
Letter of Progression
Skilled Trades BC issues the letter of progression automatically to students when they become eligible to apply for the incentive grant. It is a Service Canada grant, so although Skilled Trades BC issues the progression letter through their system, it is Service Canada that answers to the eligibility or any issues.
Students cannot initiate getting this grant, until this letter (sent by email) is issued to them. Once students receive this email, they have 1 year to apply for the grant. The letter of progression will also have all the details of what students need to do to apply for the grant.
Eligibility
The incentive grant is provided to the students when they complete Level 1 technical training successfully, and ¼ of their work-based hours, again when they complete their 2nd level of technical training, and ½ of their work-based hours and lastly, upon receiving a Red Seal for their trade.
