Start your Career in the Piping Trades
Did you know that individuals wishing to start a career in the piping trades industry must find work in Plumbing, Gas Fitting or Sprinkler Fittingfirst?
That’s right! Once the individual has found work, the employee (apprentice) and the employer (sponsor) will sign the Apprentice and Sponsor Registration Form that will allow the employee to become an indentured apprentice with Skilled Trades BC (formerly known as the Industry Training Authority).
It is only when indentured that the apprentice will be eligible to participate in technical training. At that time, the sponsor will be able to submit work-based hours to Skilled Trades BC. The apprentice will be required to successfully complete all levels of technical training, pass any provincial written exams and achieve a certain number of work-based hours.
For more information, please contact the college or your Skilled Trades BC apprenticeship advisor, Athina Czuprynski aczuprynski@skilledtradesbc.ca 778-708-9146.
